We all are living in the era of new features, technologies, and applications. Google every time comes up with new ideas that help user to do their work at an ease. Google Maps rarely fail to bring something with every update. Similarly, the latest release of Google Map v9.49 beta is like earlier versions except that it adds additional features for users and meets their expectations. This new feature allows the user to manually save your parking locations so it’s easier to get back to your car, weather predictions for your destinations while setting up navigation, and more. There is also a quick teardown that shows search results and will soon support sorting.

Save your parking location
Google has been working hard on fine-tuning a system that will try to accurately identify when you finished driving and remember where you parked your car. Though it’s helpful this feature is not entirely reliable. However, the latest version reduces the user’s effort of remembering the location of the parked car.
This tool is easily accessible; you’ll have to simply tap on the blue dot that shows your current location. After tapping, the window opens with the command to save your parking location. As soon as you tap on it, it will immediately save your location and place it on the map. There is more to it. You can also store additional information such as parking level or lot/row numbers, and set a time limit. The time limit can be used in situations like metered street parking and time-limited spaces and informs you about time expiry and allows users to add photos. You can also switch off the notifications about the time limits in settings. There is also a share button if you wish to share your car’s location with others.
The only drawback of this feature is that you can only set one parking location at a time i.e. the app cannot save the location for a longer period. For example, you parked your car at the airport, fly somewhere else and then keep track of your car. In the current scenario, this is not possible, but at some point, in the future, this drawback will be recovered.
Weather in mass transit navigation
Google Maps is a multi-faceted tool and consists of every bit of information on the screen, but the new update v9.49 provides you with an additional feature while you’re planning to travel. There is a limitation to this feature i.e. it only shows up while planning trips on mass transit, not with any of the other forms of conveyance and it shows weather only at your current location, not at the destination. As this feature is not available for all users you may not see it immediately.
Updated arrival screen on Android Auto
There is some good news for Android users also. There is a new arrival screen appearing for some. This change was first reported last week with 9.48, but again, it doesn’t seem to be live for everybody.
Teardown
Teardowns are based on evidence found inside of apks (Android application packages) and are necessarily speculative and usually based on incomplete information. There is a possibility that the conclusions made here may be incorrect.
Sort your searches
It displays the sorted list of all possible destinations based on how long it will take to reach from your current location to a specified location. These features are not live yet or maybe live only for a small number of users.
Download
The APK is signed by Google and upgrades your existing app. The file is safe to install since it has a cryptographic signature or else waits for Google to push this download to your devices. You can install it like any other APK.
