Google had brought several new features to its Maps back in May for India. Today, June 27, the worldwide rollout of these features has begun across Android and iOS users.
In the announcement blog, Google has listed a total of seven new ways you can use Maps to gain a broader prospect towards your neighborhood. To begin with, Google has its algorithms and local experts to provide trending lists on fast food centers or brunch spots across your city.
Secondly, the Explore tab in Maps has been redesigned to provide quick recommendations for cafes, restaurants and bars. Thanks to the local contributors that Google invites to give relevant info on their area, you’ll get to easily reach your required accommodations even if you’ve visited the place for the first time.
The redesigned Explore tab on Android covers top events and activities of an area via photos, descriptions and even filters by categories. It’s like: suit your mood for the right food!
Also, now you can track your progress on covering restaurants and cafe in your city against any of those featured in the trending lists. On a mission to cover burger joints from all brands available in your city? Google Maps has sorted all the way. This is so far available only on Android.
Next, you get to plan faster with Maps. Turn on your Location History and enjoy the ‘Your match’ feature for every restaurant and bar. It gives you a numeric rating based on your preferences, saving time and energy in scrolling through reviews to make your decision.
Maps will note down about your preferences on food and beverages. Go to Settings and select cuisines and restaurants you are fond of, and mark the ones that you are not into. Your recommendations are thus set for when you need.
There’s a new ‘For you’ tab that’ll help you track every happening going on in a locality. Get fast update on the new cafe opening in your restaurant that looks good enough for your taste. The Google Maps new features are available on Android across USA, the UK, Australia, Canada and Japan. Contents are being ramped up by this week.
Now you’re all set with Google Maps that brings new conveniences for your explorer personality to revive across your city or a new place you want to visit so dearly!
