After the introduction of the popular Google Pixel 5a in August last year, the American multinational technology company is gearing up to unveil a new line-up – the Google Pixel 6a.

The Google Pixel 5a was really king compared to the Google Pixel 4a, with a bigger battery and affordable camera phones. However, the upcoming Google Pixel 6a is much expected to be incredible to its predecessors.

Recently, rumors have revealed that the new  Google Pixel 6a smartphone will be unveiled during the upcoming Google I/O 2022, a global market scheduled to begin in a few days, May 11th.

However, as we just discovered via a Twitter post today, the said smartphone is currently undergoing private testing in India, which means the launching date is around the corner.

@stufflistings, who leaked the information via Twitter page noted that a new Google Pixel smartphone is undergoing private testing in India, which will probably be the Google Pixel 6a.

Picturing from the leaked images shows that the upcoming smartphone could look like the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. The largest feature appears to be a camera bar rather than a module, as well as the removal of the 3.5mm audio connector.

Aside from the design, the smartphone is expected to be available in four models: GX7AS, GB17L, G1AZG, and GB62Z and comes in a 6.2-inch FHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and an in-display fingerprint scanner, among other features. The device will most likely be powered by the company’s Tensor CPU, which will be paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

In terms of software, the upcoming Google Pixel 6a will run Android 12, with users having the option to update to Android 13 shortly. For security purposes, the device will also offer face recognition, and fingerprint and comes with a bigger 4,500mAh battery that supports 20W+ fast charging for user convenience.

As it stands now, much has not been revealed by the smartphone giant regarding the launch date but speculations have been suggesting that it is around the corner, therefore, stay connected with Techgenyz for more updates.
