Even though the majority of Android users have not got the opportunity to experience the features of Android Marshmallow, Google has rolled out the developer preview of Android N much earlier than expected.
There are also some rumors in the tech world about which dessert could possibly win to be the next name of the Android version from Google.
According to an Android Police report, some users have received questions on names of food started with the letter “N” in Google Opinion Rewards, the Android app that lets users earn Play Store credit in exchange for filling out consumer surveys.
Some users revealed that the survey asked them to choose between five different treats – Napoleon, NutBrittle, Nachos, Nori, Noodles, Nougat, and Neapolitan Ice Cream. If you’re particularly passionate about your N codename, you can install Opinion Rewards and hope the question comes up for you.
Regarding naming a device or Android operating system, Google is always one step ahead of the other technology companies in the world; the search engine giant has a tradition of naming new Android software with the name of desserts.
Earlier all versions of Android have been named after treats in alphabetical order – Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jellybean, KitKat, Lollipop, Marshmallow, and now N.
Earlier this year Google CEO, Sundar Pichai, during his visit to India, had hinted that one of the upcoming Android versions would be named after an Indian sweet based on the majority of opinions. “Nankhatai” has been in consideration and has a great chance of selection, provided plenty of people votes for it.
