According to the announcement today by President Kazunori Yamauchi, the creator of Gran Turismo, the new patch will feature PlayStation GT VR Time Trials, new vehicles, new tracks, new League events, as well as Fanatec wheel support.
The PlayStation GT Sport Patch 1,5 will be available for download and play from March 28th at 7:00 pm Pacific at granturismo.com.
In accordance with player requests, now the PlayStation VR owners will be able to experience the thrill of VR time trials at the legendary Nurburgring and Suzuka race circuits.
There are 13 brand new car lineups, including classic roadsters and modern supercars.
In terms of a new circuit, the newest inclusion features the world-famous (and GT fan-favorite) Tsukuba Circuit, which combines tight hairpins with wide, sweeping corners to truly test the driver’s grit and capacity.
The newest line-up of the GT League feature:
Nissan GT-R Cup – Beginner League
Redbull X-Junior Series – Amateur League
All Japan GT Car Championships – Professional League
These are open to testing drivers from all skill levels. There is now added official support for Fanatec wheel users, whose functionality is set to improve in near future.
Also, a new addition includes a Cherry Blossom theme to the Scapes Mode as a tribute to the Spring season. There’s also the addition of a MINI Museum that explores the history of automotive giants.
