As the year is rolling on to its close, most companies have made showcased of their upcoming products or launched new flagship devices. While the Google event remains scheduled for the 9th of October, Nokia licensee HMD Global has sent out invites for a media event to be held in London on the 4th of October. No points for guessing; a new smartphone will be launched that day, and going by the plethora of leaked information on Nokia 7.1 plus, it is likely that the phone is soon to come into its reality before the world.
Although people are rooting for the Penta-lens device, to be called Nokia 9, to come out in the event, it’s presumed that HMD will push the release of this highly-anticipated phone to MWC 2019 in the first half of the next year. It has been a pretty phenomenal year for HMD, having licensed Nokia and then strategically releasing a variety of phones, raising the brand’s profile. Although HMD has released Nokia 8 in Sirocco this year, people are waiting for a true flagship device from this reborn Finnish tech giant. Nokia 9, with all its top features, may do that bit for the company.
The Nokia event in central London will be an informal sort with a 5 pm local time (9:30 pm IST) presentation on October 4; the venue is yet to be made final. According to the press rumors, the Nokia 7.1 plus will sport a similar design to Nokia 6.1 plus. The Nokia 7.1 Plus is expected to sport Carl Zeiss optics, a Nokia logo, an Android One logo, and a circular fingerprint sensor on the back. It might also get a 19:9 display with a full-HD+ 1080×2280 pixel resolution. Nokia 9, on the one hand, adding to the five-lens camera at the back, is supposed to be powered by Snapdragon 845, while Nokia 7.1 plus will run on Snapdragon 710 with an expected 6GB of RAM.
Just a little more than a week remains, after which we can put the rumors to rest. Waiting for October 4th to come with some brilliant device.
