Cant make your way to Lillehammer, Norway 2016 Winter Youth Olympics this year? Don’t worry. Samsung is bringing a live experience for the Gear VR users – all you need is a Galaxy smartphone and Gear VR.
In collaboration with International Olympic Committee, Samsung Electronics will provide live coverage of the event through virtual reality first time in Olympic history. Lillehammer 2016 Winter Youth Olympic started on 12 February and continues till 21 February covering 70 medal events and 150 free cultural happenings.
Samsung Gear VR Headset powered by Oculus VR software launched in January at Rs.8,200. The virtual reality device packed with a super AMOLED display, wide field of view, pre-size head-tracking, and low latency brings reality to the virtual. It measures 201.9×116.4×92.6mm and weighs only 318g – 19% lighter than its predecessor.
The Gear VR is compatible with Galaxy S6 and later models and seamlessly works with the latest high-end Galaxy Smartphones, including the Galaxy Note5, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6, and Galaxy S6 Edge.

- Make sure you have a Samsung Galaxy smartphone and a compatible Samsung Gear VR headset.
- Search for “NextVR” in the Oculus Gear VR app on your Gear VR compatible Galaxy phone.
3. Once you find the NextVR app, click “Install,” which might take some time. When it’s finished, just click “Start,” and you are ready to experience the excitement of the event.
