HTC, the Taiwan based electronics company had promised earlier this year to release blockchain smartphones which will help its users secretly and safely store cryptocurrency offline. Sirin labs released their blockchain smartphone, Finney last week. HTC stayed true to their promise and released its first blockchain smartphone named Exodus 1.

In a market dominated by other smartphone manufacturing companies like Apple, Samsung, and Huawei, HTC is struggling hard to hold its own market and stay relevant in the smartphone market. They are working on introducing new innovating ideas and features in the smartphone to give a boost to their market sales.

Now that they have brought to the market HTC Exodus 1, some clarifications are needed on the workings and features of a blockchain smartphone. It is expected that the Brave browser, developed by Brave Software Inc. will be the default internet exploring option in HTC Exodus 1. Brave is an open-source decentralized browser which comes with a built-in ad-blocking and website trackers which are the cornerstone to mainstream conventional browsers like Chrome and Safari. Exodus 1 will have support for multiple blockchain networks like Bitcoin and Ethereum.

The co-founder of the open-source Brave, Brendan Eich announced their collaboration with HTC on Twitter. His tweet read, “We are very happy to have @Brave as default browser & to be working with HTC on their Exodus phone:” Brendan Eich had previously worked for another free and open-sourced web browser, Mozilla.

Brave raised $35 million USD back in June 2017 with their Basic Attentio Tokens which is commonly known as BAT owing it to their ICO. Brave maybe the first browser with a built-in crypto wallet, it is not the only one in the market. A new Opera browser for Android is rumored to have a crypto wallet and encrypted communications. It is yet to be seen how the market responds to blockchain smartphones.

Also, if you are looking for a secure browser as an alternative to the Brave browser, take a look at the GoLogin anti-detect browser. When using the Brave browser, you are reluctant to disclose various details about your visit, your device, and your browsing history when accessing a website. And GoLogin skillfully spoofs all of that.
