In a world dominated by global tech giants, smaller players often struggle to make their mark. However, HTC, a once-prominent name in the mobile industry, has silently made a significant move in Africa with its new release – the HTC Wildfire E Star.

HTC’s choice to launch the Wildfire E Star in Africa is both strategic and thoughtful. The smartphone from the name targets the entry-level and mid-range segments. While other mobile device producers have typically dominated the African market, HTC’s most recent product pledges to upend the existing quo and carve out a niche for itself. Now let’s take a tour of the smartphone.

HTC Wildfire E Star: A Silent Revolution in African Mobile Markets

In terms of the design, the new entry-level smartphone sports a water drop notch surrounded by thick bezels with the HTC brand logo on the back of the fuselage, and there is a camera module with LED flash in the upper left corner, which looks very round.

Coming to the configuration, the HTC Wildfire E Star has a 6.5-inch LCD screen with an HD+ resolution of 7201600 pixels and is powered by the UNISOC SC9832E chipset. This processor is claimed to be the most integrated LTE chip platform in the world right now.

Additionally, the chip has also achieved the best balance between performance, power consumption, and high integration and has been widely shipped over the world. Therefore, with the chip HTC hopes to rival Samsung and Apple which have already made inroads into the market.

The Wildfire E Star has 16GB of storage and 2 GB of RAM. There is a microSD card slot on the device for even more capacity. It has the Android 12 Go version pre-installed. It contains a 3000mAh battery and a USB-C connection that allows 5W charging. The phone weighs 200g and measures 164.8×76.5×9.2mm in size.

The optical secession includes a 5-megapixel front-facing selfie camera and an 8-megapixel rear camera, while a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and face unlock backed the security feature. The device has a 3.5mm audio port, dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and other connectivity features.

Unfortunately, as of the time of the press, the official pricing has not been announced yet. However, considering competitive features the HTC Wildfire E Star is expected to be at an affordable price point and thereby revolutionizing African mobile markets.
