Huaweiās long-awaited launch event for its upcoming Mate 40 series finally took place on October 22 as per the schedule. The latest event is deemed to be the global launch event which will share the details of the availability of the product in Europe. Furthermore, the Chinese company will host another event in China separately announcing the launch of its new products there.
The Mate series is Huaweiās flagship product in the market, without any doubt. Huawei had lost its license to use Android OS on its products, and as such, the products failed to perform outside of the Chinese market. The same could be said for the Indian market too, where Google products are used daily.
To counter this problem, the company came up with its own App Store, but the responses to it have been mixed. As for the launch event, Huaweiās consumer business CEO Yu Chengdong, before officially introducing the Huawei Mate 40 series, took a moment to review the course of the past ten years of the Chinese tech company.
Huaweiās Mate generation was first introduced in 2013, and it was the companyās first model with a 6.1-inch large screen that came equipped with a 4100mAh battery. The next model, Mate 7 was the first one from Huawei to come with one-touch fingerprint unlocking, the next model, the Mate 8 sported the companyās first 16nm chip phone; the Mate 9 was the first-ever from the company to support 22.5W super-fast charging technology, the Mate 10 was equipped with the industryās first smartphone chip; Mate 20 uses the industry’s first 7nm smartphone chip and supports wireless reverse charging; Mate X is the fastest in the industry 5G folding screen mobile phone, and is the industry’s first mobile phone supporting SA/NSA dual-mode 5G network.
Chengdong pointed out that the company has always been committed and geared towards building a better and smarter world for its consumers through its endless innovative ventures and services.
