The announcement for the launch of Huawei’s new edition Honor 8C has been recorded. The competiton is really high and the OEMs are confusing the consumers by launching a wide variety of devices, which are overlapping the price points. Huawei continued with the Snapdragon 632 SoC instead of Kirin SoC for providing with better efficiency. With the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636, Huawei focused on the efficiency rather than on the pure performance of the smartphone. It sports 6.26-inches HD+display and will be coupled by the beefy 4,000 mAh battery and EMUI’s strong battery management.
The combination will be underpowered for the users from the budget gaming device and also for the average consumers. This also features a proper camera setup. The camera hardware is complemented by Al backed camera app. Honor 8C can recognise over 500 scenarios in 22 different categories as per its own claims. The AI shopping feature can detect objects in the scene and can search online for similar items using the built in NPU. The front camera also has the AI Beatify feature.
The device will be available in Black, Blue, Gold and Purple colors. Priced at Rs 11,999 ($172) for 32 GB variant and Rs 12,999 ($186) for the 64 GB variant, the smartphone will go on sale in the country through Amazon.in and HiHonor stores from December 10, 2018. The Reliance Jio users will be getting the benefits of 100 GB additional data with a worth of Rs 4,450.
It doesn’t exactly compete with Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro but starts treading with the higher specced variant. Huawei is definitely targeting the average consumers, although the inclusion of HD+ Display on a 6.26″ device doesn’t make so much sense. It is looking for a more efficient powerhouse because there will be alternatives in the market that can be considered. However, the market at this range of price can see intense competition among the devices like Realme, Oppo, Vivo and more with their offerings of better displays and processors.
