Early this year, Foldable smartphones from Huawei and Samsung attracted quite a lot of public attention but launches were delayed as companies had to polish the technology. It turns out that Huawei plans to launch its Mate Xs Foldable phone in China on November 15.
The company announced the Mate Xs a slightly upgraded version of the Mate X. While the Mate Xs seem to be alike to the regular Mate X on the outside, it features Huawei’s new flagship Kirin 990 5G SoC processor.
The chip touts an integrated 5G modem instead of the external one used in the original Mate X. The chipset also comes with a more powerful NPU and overclocked Cortex A76 and A55 cores. The device now has six more cores, resulting in a total of 16 cores while the Mali-G76 GPU remains the same as the Kirin 980.
In addition to revealing the launch date of the Mate X, Huawei also said today that it plans to release a refined version of the foldable smartphone, the Mate Xs. The Huawei Mate Xs foldable phone has been priced at 16,999 Yuan (~$2,400) and is expected to hit the shelves on November 15 in China.
