Huawei launched the MateBook 14s laptop in Russia, which is supposed to ‘know’ its owner using face unlock, voice recognition and fingerprint recognition. The laptop is very lightweight, and just 15 minutes of charging can provide service for up to 3 hours.
The top bezel houses a camera just like any other laptop with a built-in webcam. Still, for the MateBook 14s, the mini-camera serves the function of face unlocking mechanism, similar to that of the face unlocking function of a smartphone. The power button also doubles as a fingerprint scanner.
Under the hood, the laptop runs on an 11th Gen Intel Core processor, which also can be clocked to up to 45W by switching to multitasking mode. Moreover, the laptop features a 2.5K 14.2-inch of display with a refresh rate of 90Hz. The display offers an aspect ratio of 3:2 and the FullView Display offers 1.07 billion colors and 100% sRGB gamut. The display screen is also a touchscreen display.
The MateBook 14s is equipped with a 60Wh battery and a 90W power supply. One of the key features of this laptop is the keyboard which comes with a backlight; moreover, the company is also offering something new with the keyboard, that is, the more it is used, the more pleasant it becomes due to the soft keystroke.
Huawei MateBook 14s is the first device from the Chinese tech giant that features Huawei’s Sound technology which can transmit high-quality sound. The laptop comes equipped with four speakers and four microphones. The laptop also features intelligent noise cancellation and the world’s first personalized voice filter that can recognize speech and filter out extra noises.
Huawei is offering the MateBook 14s in two colors: sage green and sage grey. The pre-order for the laptop starts on October 26 at the price of 119,990 rubles.
