Huawei seems to have to keep busy with designing and manufacturing new products. On May 2, a mysterious design patent surfaced online, and netizens were quick to point out that the new design was apparently from soon to be Huawei’s MatePad T.
The mere patent photos revealed the basic design of the upcoming notepad, and it also informed us that the next MatePad will look significantly different than the previous MatePad, namely the Huawei MatePad Pro, and the MatePad.
All surface designing differences aside, the Huawei MatePad T may somewhat be different from the previous MatePads but is similar looking to the Huawei Tablet M6 high-energy version. One point of stark similarity would be the X-shaped texture on its back end that comes with a set of speaker openings on the top and the bottom.
The back also houses a single rear camera and a Type-C interface. The patent design also reveals that the MatePad comes with three-button on its right side.
Two of those have to be the conventional power button and the volume button. However, the existence of the third button may mean that the third button comes with other special functions. However, what this special function could be is not clear yet. Surely, the leak will be followed by a few concrete information, hopefully.
As for the previous MatePad series products, the Huawei MatePad, the Pro version of the MatePad is the flagship tablet; moreover, the MatePad focuses mainly on education and making it accessible to almost everyone. This also raises the question if the new Huawei MatePad T series will be gaming-centered.
The last speculation comes from the similarity that the MatePad T series has with the Huawei Tablet M6 high-energy version since it performs well enough when it comes to games.
Currently, Huawei MatePad T has obtained WiFi certification, pre-installed based on the Android 10 EMUI 10.0 system.
