Huawei will release a line of premium tablets, the Huawei notepad, which will compete with the iPad Pro. It will also share the chipset platform with flagship Huawei smartphones.
The European Union’s Intellectual Property Office (European Union Intellectual Property Office, UEIPO) has released a page, and in its database, a Huawei device called Huawei MatePad has been spotted online. The EU Intellectual Property Office manages the EU Trademark and Design rights, and the Observatory on Infringements of Intellectual Property Rights
Sources believe that this is most likely Huawei’s new offering range for Flagships tablets under the name MatePad, which would include the flagship line of tablets, and is expected to be built on the basis of the same flagship hardware platform of the Kirin family. Although, the MediaPad line will still continue and will include models of inexpensive and medium segments.
To Recall, last year’s tablet Huawei MediaPad M5 Pro, which was the flagship of the M5 series, was built on the basis of a single-chip system Kirin 960, debuted in 2016 in the smartphone Huawei Mate 9 and then used in the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus. With its Galaxy Tab S4 10.5 last year, Samsung equipped it with a relatively old Snapdragon 835, whereas it could use Snapdragon 845 or Exynos 9810.
At the same time, Apple has installed more productive chipset platforms in its iPad Pro tablet than in its newest smartphones, which allows the iPad Pro to be the absolute leader in performance. It is with iPad Pro that the new line of Huawei MatePad will compete.
