Today, Huawei officially launched its very own latest Harmony OS 2.0 operating system in a special event. This was followed by the sudden ban that restricted the company from using the usual Google Mobile services.
Earlier, it was constricted to certain devices only. Still, in today’s event, the company has confirmed that rolling this version has been meant for the mobile application developers, and therefore, it will start rolling out for the smartphones as well.
Speaking on this, earlier the Huawei President of the consumer business software department commented:
“Harmony OS, is growing rapidly along the road signs we announced on HDC and in a blink of an eye it ushered in a new milestone.”
Originally made for a better experience, it first appeared in August 2019, named under Hongmeng OS, it was intended for delivering a wider range of user experience all across the globe. However, it supported only a few of the devices at the initial stage, which included the Huawei smart TV.
With the budding popularities, Huawei had finally targeted expanding the distribution, and today marks the final day of the big release with this renamed version of the Harmony OS 2.0. Moreover, we get to find over 15000 APIs and integrated development tools like DevEco studio in this new setup.
The current status shows that the new updated version will be supporting devices of up to 128GB RAM of wearables, tablets, and other smartphone devices and fulfills every other domain from health and fitness, entertainment, and social app arenas.
This new HarmonyOS 2.0 promises to deliver faster connection and better resource sharing. It will be available in devices like Huawei Mate 40 series, Mate 30 series, Mate P40 Pro and Pro+series, Mate 20, and the Huawei Nova series.
