Huawei has just quietly launched one of the Y-series smartphones as it launched earlier. It has added a new member to its Y-series with the Y5 Prime (2018) smartphone launch. The smartphone is now listed on Huawei’s official website, which is available in 3 variants, Black, Blue, and Gold color options.
It seems to be the first phone to visit overseas markets. According to information, the novelty is equipped with a 5.45-inch HD+ display with a screen resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels. The device is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor (Snapdragon 450 likely). It is backed by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 256GB via a micro SD card slot.
It is also stated to support a face unlocking facility in addition to dual SIM cards. But the dual card facility will not be available in some areas due to its policy restrictions. The Huawei Y5 Prime will be packed in an Android Go model.
As for the camera, the smartphone features a 13-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, while on the front, there is a 5-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calling. Though the phone lacks a fingerprint sensor, face recognition is the new catch feature.
At present, the smartphone is listed on Huawei’s official website. However, there is no information on its price but is confirmed to be released in the overseas markets.
