Just late last month, HuaweiCentral reported that Huawei is preparing to launch its next-generation smartwatch series – the Huawei Watch GT 4, as the devices get Bluetooth certification. In the report, the outlet revealed that the brand registered four new models of its upcoming smartwatches with their model numbers.
Huawei Wearable Strategy Event
Following this leak, the Chinese brand has today officially announced that it will be holding a global “Wearable Strategy and New Product Launch” event on September 14th with the theme of “Fashion Forward.” The company disclosed this via its official X handle (formerly Twitter). According to the brand, the event will be held in Barcelona, Spain.
Given this development, it is likely that the new Huawei Watch GT 4 series will be announced therein since the event is a “Wearable Strategy and New Product Launch.” Although the brand did not disclose whether the smartwatches would be official there or not. However, given the earlier Bluetooth certification, it is assumed that the new wearable device will be announced at the event in Spain.
The Huawei Watch GT 4 Series
The smartwatches, if announced at the event, will succeed the Huawei Watch GT 3, which was launched in 2021 in 42 and 46-mm wrist sizes. Picking from earlier leaks, the new Huawei smartwatch series are the Huawei Watch GT 4 (PNX-B19), Huawei Watch H5546 (PNX-B19B), Huawei Qingyun H5546 (PNX-B19B), and Huawei Watch GT 4 (AR-B19).
Additionally, the certificate also states that the Watch GT 4 will come preloaded with the HarmonyOS 4 operating system. The firmware version that is listed is 4.0.0.50 (SP1C00M00). The software was introduced for the Huawei ecosystem of smart devices.
