Artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning projects are expanding rapidly. It is predicted that by the year 2021, 75 percent of commercial enterprise apps, over 90 percent of consumer interaction with support bots, and over 50 percent of new industrial robots will leverage AI. To develop these AI models in future and to streamline the AI data pipeline, IBM is introducing IBM Spectrum AI with NVIDIA DGX. It will combine the IBM Spectrum Scale on flash with NVIDIA DGX-1 to support a growing data science practice.
The combined system will provide the base ground for the AI projects to grow rapidly and smoothly. Companies can build their data science services and can benefit from the AI application which will help them to deliver powerful business value. IBM Spectrum AI with NVIDIA DGX can support multiple user and multiple models and as a proof of this, they have already demonstrated 120 GB/s data throughput to support the dual models of user and models. Unlike the traditional storage ways, the IBM Spectrum Scale can be deployed in configurations to support for a few NVIDIA DGX-1 servers.
The NVIDIA DGX software is designed to accelerate data science workflow with the help of the RAPIDS framework. Ashish Nadkarni, the Group Vice President, IDC Infrastructure Systems, Platforms and Technologies, said, “IBM’s strategy is to make AI/ML/DL more accessible and more performant. IBM Spectrum AI with NVIDIA DGX is designed to provide a tested and supported platform. For those who are choosing NVIDIA DGX servers for the open source frameworks and high-throughput GPU platforms, IBM Spectrum Scale can add intelligent, scalable, secured, metadata rich, cloud-integrated, multiprotocol, high-performing and efficient storage in an easy-to-deploy solution from their top tier business partners.”
We are very excited about the new project as it will enable our clients to build, launch, and scale their AI-driven applications and services around a robust enterprise platform engineered for the future. – Stan Wysocki, The president of Mark III Systems
IBM Spectrum Scale can fit into the extended data pipeline and it can also provide storage services across different storage choices, including the AWS public cloud. IBM Spectrum AI with NVIDIA DGX can support the development of multiple projects and can deliver a fast path to insights.
