The delivery of the iMac Pro Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad has been delayed by 6-7 weeks. The standard Magic Keyboard is in stock, in contrast to Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad. The same availability for the product is seen across Apple Stores in all countries, although the other suppliers still have it in stock.
The delay of 6-7 weeks means that the product will be launched in December, the same time when the new iMac Pro will be launched.
The above insight leads to the explanation that Apple plans to launch the larger keyboard to coincide with the launch of the iMac Pro. The new iMac Pro, as indicated by Apple, is the most powerful Mac that has ever been developed.
The salient features of the new iMac Pro are its four Thunderbolt 3 ports with support for up to two 5K displays, a real-time 3D rendering, and a 1080p FaceTime camera. Other specs have the configuration of a 5K built-in display, Radeon Vega graphics, 8-core Xeon processors, 32GB ECC memory, and a 10GB Ethernet.
The Eject key placed top-right on the standard Magic Keyboard can be removed from the new Magic keyboard as Macs have abandoned optical drives for a long while. Thus, this eject key is entirely redundant for most users. For customers who are still using DVDs, they can eject the DVD from the Finder tool.
The Siri button is expected to be replaced by the new Magic Keyboard. The Siri Button occupies the same position on the MacBook Pro with Touch Bar, on the right-hand side of the Touch Bar, next to the Touch ID and power button.
The keyboard that Apple displayed the last summer had the existing layout, just in the new Space Gray color, but the buzz is that this layout can be a display sample. The new keyboard might have a different layout. Apple indicated that the Space Gray version would belong only to the iMac Pro and will not be sold separately, it needs to be seen what the company will unveil in the next few weeks.
