The astonishing news about the release of the Indiana Jones PS5 along with the Great Circle by Phil Spencer in the spring of 2025, surprises the gaming consumer base for a major reason. During an in-house interview with Xbox, Phil Spencer stated that neither Starfield nor Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be available on PS5. Some avid fans have taken issue with the way Spencer has presented this argument.
Coming to the current scenario, upon the declaration of the release of Indiana Jones on PS5 which has taken place briefly after the game’s debut on Xbox, Phil Spencer has described Xbox as a ‘business’. He has also stated that there’s an undeniable obligation to give back to the parent company Microsoft.
The confirmation of the said news has become official months after the rumor of the release of the game by Microsoft on PS5. It has been also noted that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, has been officially declared as a part of a brand new multiplatform approach for a few Xbox games, under the name Project Latitude. However, this has been an internal matter.
This game was supposed to be the big console exclusively for Xbox users but this will not be the case anymore considering its new release on PlayStation5. This decision has led to the loss of the exclusive nature of Xbox because of Microsoft’s multiplatform push strategy.
Therefore, the rolling out of a new strategy by Microsoft is being observed upon the release of Indiana Jones PS5. This showcases Microsoft’s efforts of pushing its business to the horizon, however, it is also effective the exclusivity which had been previously restricted to Xbox. Even though, there has been a revelation that, not releasing these games on the PS5 is blocking the way of a considerable amount of profit that can be made by the company.
