The Detroit Auto Show of 2018 is all set up to host luxury brands, a characteristic prevalent among Japanese car companies. As Lexus stalls ongoing inquiries about the mysterious concept to be unveiled at the show, the Acura RDX aims to trump all safety, comfort, and technological development barriers, as their driving dynamics takes a backseat. With a decent fuel efficiency, a six-speed automatic paddle-shifter power strain feature, this locomotive is primarily for relaxed cruising. However, it is Infiniti that promises to take aback eager car enthusiasts with their new trajectory of design study.
Nissan’s efforts to keep Q Inspiration a secret, thereby avoiding the limelight for a while, has been elicited, but their promise entails a preview of the next design language through the star of the Show. This concept car has been considered the harbinger of a new generation of Infiniti, demonstrating their “artistry in the new age of autonomy and breakthrough drivetrains”, as commented by Alfonso Albasia, the senior Vice-President of the brand.
Boasting of a sculpted hood, swept-back headlights, and a grille that will not be mistaken for being just a cooling device but will almost be filled to the brim, the Q Inspiration stands as a formidable contributor to the said lineup. From the rear end, it resembles a sedan with a fastback-like roofline, as seen in the Audi A7 and the Mercedes-Benz CLS, attributing to it, the characteristic of the future of Infiniti top-rung concept car. Karim Habib, the executive design director, explained that the new addition will be the foundational path of sedan evolution. Described as a “compact” invention, the engineers have reduced the measurement of the powertrain by switching to electricity entirely.
