Instagram recently began testing a major change to its Stories platform. Of late, the competitors against this online platform have increased, and to make sure that its users are still satisfied with the app, Instagram is now testing a mode to let the users post photos and short videos which will stay life for 24 hours.
The developers at the app want to increase the maximum length of videos on Stories to 60 seconds. If users upload a video longer than 15 seconds, the video will automatically be split into multiple different stories. But now the app is changing that and bringing in 60-second long videos to its Stories.
This is yet another move by Instagram to beat both Snapchat and TikTok, the two apps which have gained so much popularity among young users. Notably, Snapchat introduced its standalone app for the creators to help edit their videos.
Now that Instagram is including this new change, the app platform is also letting know a few users about the change. The new change allows the users to upload the 60-second long videos to their stories, and the video will not be divided into different sections to accommodate the whole video, as was the case before with the 15-second long videos.
Moreover, the company is also testing out a new revamped interface. The new interface will make it easier for users to mention other accounts or add a location to a post. Although, at its face value, this may seem like an unnecessary change since tagging another account is already an easy job when it comes to Instagram. However, the app is still testing out the new interface, and it is not clear yet if this change will be available to all users; as of now, only a handful of users are able to post longer Stories.
