Intel has officially announced core 11th Gen Tiger Lake processors for laptops

Intel has finally announced the first Intel 11th Gen Tiger Lake processors core 11xxx for laptops. Intel had promised the inclusion of new features in the next-gen processors, making it evident that the company will take it to the next level.

Keeping its promise, the new-gen of Intel processors will feature new integrated Xe graphics, Thunderbolt 4, Wi-Fi 6 support, and a big leap in performance and improved battery life as compared to the previous Ice Lake chips. Keeping in mind the surge in thin and light laptops, Intel did not forget to mention that the new-gen processors will be the best ones for thin and light laptops.

Intel is launching its new 11 Gen designs for both its U-series and Y-class chips which are also known as UP4. They are led by the Core i7-1185G7, which offer a base speed of 3.0 GHz, maximum single-core acceleration up to 4.8 GHz and a maximum acceleration of all cores up to 4.3 GHz. It also features the most powerful version of Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics with 96 CU and 1.35 GHz maximum graphics speed.

AT the Architecture Day 2020 event the company had announced the new chips. Although the new Intel 11th Gen Tiger Lake processors will get a huge makeover, they are still built on a 10nm node. The upgrading to Willow Core architecture with the new “10 nm SuperFin design” which will offer faster speed with lower power consumption.

With Intel 11th Gen Tiger Lake processors, Intel is promising an increase of 20% speed and a similar 20% increase in system performance. Along with the introduction of the new chips, Intel will also introduce a new version of its Project Athena certification standard called “Intel Evo”. This will work towards offering over 9 hours of “real use” on a single charge, along with a fast-charging system. Intel says there are more than 20 Evo-validated projects due this year.
