Intel introduces new NUC kits and NUC mini PCs Featuring 8th Gen Intel Core Processors

Intel today has introduced NUC kits and NUC mini-PCs, powered by 8th Gen Intel® Core™ processors, which are all set to revolutionize a wide range of mainstream computing needs. The new NUC’s bring the performance of desktops in a compact form factor that fits into the palms of tech enthusiasts.

Intel NUCs are mini PCs that offer high-performance capabilities in a space-saving design and are perfectly suited for home theater, home office, entry-level gaming or as a replacement for desktops when space is a concern. These new NUCs offer a number of new options that will fit a wide range of computing needs. – John Deatherage, marketing director for Intel NUCs

The new Intel NUC kits (NUC8i7BEH, NUC8i5BEH, NUC8i5BEK, NUC8i3BEH, NUC8i3BEK; initially code-named Bean Canyon) are being powered by the 8th Gen Intel Core i7, i5, and i3 processors, with the initial code-name of Coffee Lake-U. These kits feature Intel Iris® graphics with eDRAM that are equipped to power home theatre systems, drive content creator boxes, and serve as a personal voice assistant among its many functions. The kits shall provide integrators and DIYers with the freedom to customize their choice of storage, memory, and operating system. And this flexibility comes along with a range of price/performance options to meet the needs of most mainstream users’ looking for an ultra-small form factor.

Intel NUC KitThe new Intel NUC mini PCs (NUC8i3CYSM, NUC8i3CYSN, formerly code-named Crimson Canyon), for their part, shall be providing their users with an affordable range of mainstream gaming option, allowing them to play few of the most popular games of the day at 1080p, including “League of Legends*”, “TF2″* and “CS: GO”. These NUC mini-PCs, like the kits, are being powered by the 8th Gen Intel Core i3-8121U processors (formerly code-named Cannon Lake) and boasts of being the first mainstream NUCs to feature discrete graphics.

The devices come fully configured with 1TB of storage, either 8GB or 4GB of memory, and Windows® 10 Home; apart from including Intel’s Wireless-AC 9560 CNVi 802.11ac WiFi + Bluetooth 5 solution, two HDMI 2.0a outputs, and four USB 3.0 ports. Like the NUC kits, the NUC mini PCs shall also combine multiple functions in an extremely small form-factor that shall easily fit into users’ palms.

The new Intel NUC kits and Intel NUC mini PCs shall be made available worldwide through Intel distributors and online retailers, beginning in September 2018.
