Intel, at its AI DevCon today, May 24, has launched the Intel AI Challenge for the Olympic Games, via which it is inviting AI developers across the world to come up with innovative ideas to render AI in Olympic Games.
Intel is a worldwide TOP partner and AI Platform Partner for the Olympic Games and wishes to enhance the experience for the global audience and the participating athletes in the Olympic Games 2020 that’ll be held in Tokyo.
The AI developer community is required to submit ideas within three weeks starting today. Developers will need to take into account the experience for fans and athletes, along with business applications. Intel clarifies: ‘No idea is too big or too small to consider.’
The program entails rewards for developers as well, with the chance to win a part of Intel’s $10,000 prize purse for the ideas.
Timo Lumme, MD of IOC Television and Marketing Services, reminded me of the Olympic Winter Games Pyeongchang 2018, where technology implementations could become refreshingly impactful across fans and athletes around the world. He expressed excitement in expecting what more Intel can bring in the next edition of the biggest sporting event in the world.
Intel has enough time in the two years to create and ready AI products for the games. Intel AI Olympic games initiative taken via the program calls for contributions from around the globe, and things are looking incredibly potent for the Tokyo Games to experience something ‘like never before as Timo puts it.
Stay tuned to follow the developments of Intel’s AI for the Olympic Games.
