Today, the American multinational technology company, Intel, has purchased the startup RemoteMyApp from the city of Szczecin in Poland.
This is one of the most significant Polish start-up purchases in recent years. RemoteMyApp operates the Vortex. gg cloud game platform and provides game streaming technologies to businesses.
The behemoth has just purchased a cutting-edge startup from Szczecin, purchasing shares from prior investors from Tar Heel Capital, MCI’s Internet venture capital firm, and Deutsche Telekom’s investment fund Telekom Innovation Pool.
For years, this has been one of the most significant transactions on the local startup market. The world’s largest processor company has acquired a digital entertainment streaming startup based in Szczecin.
As a result of the acquisition, the American multinational technology company, Intel, will enter the video game streaming market in the cloud.
It is one of the most significant purchases for the Vistula River startup ecosystem since 2013, when Amazon bought the Gdansk startup that created the Ivona speech synthesizer.
Both parties do not disclose the value of the transaction.
The president of MCI Capital, Tomasz Czechowicz noted that:
“The market is globalizing and a company such as RemoteMyApp has a better chance of further dynamic development as part of a global group than as a startup financed by regional funds.”
“RemoteMyApp, a startup founded, among others by Rafa? Krochmal, has become part of Intel Corporation.” Rzeczpospolita maintained.
