For a long time, Apple users have been waiting for the iOS 12 update. There has been a rumor that iOS 12 would focus on bug fixes and other smaller improvements. But now, iOS 12 is actually improving the user experience by upgrading the gadgets’ performance and feature improvements.
iOS 12 update offers a range of smaller yet useful features, including accidental screenshot prevention on iPhone X, easier Face ID rescanning of new notification settings, and much more.
The iPhone X Accidental Screenshot is one of the annoying things in the iPhone X that accidentally takes a screenshot of the lock screen while pulling the device out of the pocket. But now, with iOS 12, Apple has made an essential improvement here as screenshots are disabled when one turns the device on, preventing accidental screenshots.
Low Power Mode yet Say Hey to Siri – Earlier Siri feature was disabled on low power mode. But now Hey Siri now works on Low Power Mode settings even when the battery is low.
Face ID Rescanning – Apple has made the process of rescanning the face easier after a Face ID fails. In iOS 11, users had to swipe up and then down on the Home indicator for a rescan. But now, in iOS 12, Apple users can simply swipe up from the bottom in order to rescan.
Apple Music Lyric Search – Searching for a song has got more smooth and effective now because of the Music app; users can now search for a song by putting a lyric from that song. This will ensure an easy hunt for a song that has been stuck in the head without remembering the title of it. So just by typing a lyric from the song in the Music app, Apple Music will initiate a search through lyrics to find the track.
Silent Notifications – A new Silent Notifications feature will allow notifications to be sent directly to Notification Center, as opposed to any popups. With Instant Tuning, a user can choose to have notifications delivered silently to Notification Center by default in order to avoid getting disturbed by the alerts.
Portrait Lighting Improvements – iOS 11 introduced a new Portrait Lighting feature, but the feature was touted as being in beta for many reasons. Though it still carries the beta label yet, according to Apple, iOS 12 includes improvements to Portrait Lighting. The Portrait mode photos are known to be better. Now the camera generates a mask when it detects a person, carefully and efficiently separating the person from the scene.
