It is no longer news that the next-generation iPhones are coming this month, specifically on September 12, as announced by the California-based brand. As we anticipate this official date, the popular Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman has recently revealed that there is no chance for the iPhone 15 Pro Max and Ultra to come out this year.
The Bloomberg reporter posted this via his official X handle in one of his latest forecasts. According to him, the upcoming iPhone 15 series will only have a 6.7-inch iPhone, and the Pro Max and Ultra versions will not be launched this year. At the same time, he also wrote, “Maybe it won’t be released until next year, as I wrote in February.”
Although this is because Apple officials had internal discussions at the time about adding a high-end iPhone to its product lineup, reports have also revealed that the iPhone maker is planning to differentiate between Pro models and Pro Max models, so it may choose to use the word Ultra.
However, tipster Majin Bu said there’s a chance we might see these two new iPhone models, as reported by AppleInsider. According to Majin Bu, the Pro Max version of the iPhone 15 series may be equipped with 6 GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage space; the Ultra version may be equipped with 8 GB of RAM and up to 2TB of memory. In terms of price, the iPhone 15 Ultra may be $100 more expensive.
Meanwhile, it’s important to note that the word Ultra has already been used in products with Apple Watch and M1 processors, suggesting that the name change is still a possibility but that the precise execution time is still unknown. Earlier last September, tipster Gurman revealed that the upcoming iPhone 15 series would replace the “Pro Max” version with the “Ultra”.
With this development, the million-dollar question is, will the iPhone 15 Pro Max and Ultra be released next year? If you say no, you are right, according to Mark Gurman, but if you say yes, you are also right, according to tipster Majin Bu. To cut a long story short, let’s hope and see what will happen on September 12th at the Apple event.
