A new revolution is set to enter the tech world, which could not have been stinted in a particular space; instead, it allows various firms to partake in a futuristic society. According to Japan Broadcasting Association, eight firms including Toyota Motor, Sony, NTT, NEC, Softbank, KIOXIA, and other companies, have teamed up to form a high-end chip company named Rapidus.
The term derives from the Latin language, which predominantly means “fast” Rapidus focuses on constructing a semiconductor Kingdom to reduce the threat of semiconductor scarcity.
Rapidus targets to start mass production of the most nuanced semiconductors below 2 nanometers that haven’t yet splashed off in earth. Semiconductor companies are yet to get used to it, but the newly formed Rapidus, with multiple allies, show no mercy and brings off everything on the set under its banner. According to a few reports, the newly developed company will showcase high-end chips correlated to emerging artificial intelligence and smart city construction.
The company plans to form a team and kick start mass production in 2027, quite a big weekend, but the firm needs to settle all the things on the shelves to blast off from the ground. It has been reported that each company will play its part by investing nearly 1 billion yen into the new company. The Japanese government will also support the project through various methods. Moreover, the new company opened its door to other investments.
