Back in April 2021, the Chinese mobile giant Xiaomi officially unveiled its first foldable smartphone – the Mi Mix Fold. The foldable smartphone comes in black color with 16GB/512GB storage and features a triple of 108MP+13MP+8MP. The most exciting of the device is that it is the world’s first smartphone equipped with 4 Harman Kardon speakers.
However, it seems the mobile giant is about to unveil the successor of the foldable smartphone. As we just discovered in a Twitter post from the popular, reliable leaker, a new Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 has visited the Myanmar Institute of Information Technology (MIIT) certification center alongside the new Redmi K50S Pro.
Xiaomi Mix Fold 2
As per the leak, the upcoming Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 is expected to come in two variants of 12GB/512GB and 12GB/1TB RAM and storage, respectively.
However, in a similar report, the Mix Fold 2 is reportedly to be an upgrading of the initial Mix Fold with a 120Hz refresh rate, plus the aspect ratio will change to match that of the Honor Magic V, which boasts a 21:9, 6.45in OLED display on the outside, and a 10.3:9, 7.9in OLED internal display.
Also, the device is said to be an LTPO 8.1in the panel, running at 2K with support for variable refresh rates, while the latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC is rumored to power the new foldable device.
Redmi K50S Pro
On the other hand, the new Redmi K50S Pro also visited MIIT, as revealed in the tweet by the leaker. The device is an upgraded version of the Redmi K50 series earlier introduced back in February and later in March this year.
The new Redmi K50S Pro, if launched before the Moto Edge 30 Ultra, will be the first smartphone with a 200MP camera setup and a 120Hz LTPO AMOLED display. The phone is said to have variants of storage on board as 8GB/128GB and 12GB/256GB. Also, it is expected to be a 5G phone that runs on Android 13 out of the box.
As it stands now, the launch date of the duo smartphones has not been confirmed yet, but given the leak, it seems imminent. Thus, stay connected with TechGenyz as we bring you the latest updates in the Tech world.
