Lenovo reveals five new models of budgeted tablets that would work with Google’s Android Oreo OS.
With the starting price of $70, similar to the cost of the previous generation Tab 7 Essential, the Tab-E series models come in three sizes: 7 inches, 8 inches, and 10 inches. However, as of now, Lenovo has not released the prices of the two other models, Tab P10 and Tab M10. But their design and specs seem to indicate that the latter two models might cost more than the Tab E series.
The competitive market for Lenovo now seems quite a challenge, what with Amazon’s Fire 7 Tablet ($50), Fire HD 8 ($80) and Fire HD 10 (around $110). The Amazon Fire 7 tablet has more than 9 hours of battery life coupled with a microSD card slot expandable up to 256GB. The Fire HD 8 has the firepower of a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM and up to 12 hours of battery life. The only category where the 10-inch Lenovo Tab-E model has an advantage over Amazon’s Fire HD 10 is in the price category with the price of the former being about $20 lesser than that of the latter.
