LG Q7 will have a special variant with Android One, and it will be a T-Mobile exclusive offering American customers a chance to get the taste of and decide on the stock Android experience.
Due to its expensiveness, Stock Android gives Google a limited target of reaching consumers, and its Android One program aims to expand on this, offering a taste and an option for customers across South and Southeast Asia.
Among other devices to have received the Android One updates are Motorola Moto X4 on Project Fi, Nokia 6.1, and Xiaomi Mi A1. Although, many Mi A1 owners reported so far that they are yet to receive the updates.
As for LG, it has another smartphone, LG Stylo 4, to be released with Android One, and it is supposed to launch tomorrow, June 19. It unexpectedly released the device’s kernel source code before the launch!
Now, an XDA Recognized contributor has already taken a pick on the kernel source code and has come across a new LG Android One model headed for T-Mobile. Therefore, this actually could be the LG Q7 Android One variant slated to be carried by T-Mobile in the US.
Stylo 4 will further come with Android 8.1 Oreo and will be the first phone of LG to bring the latest OS.
For a refresher, LG Q7 packs Snapdragon 450 in 32bit mode, and the special variant will come with either 2GB or 3GB RAM. Internal storage and sensors are yet unknown. Rear camera flash is confirmed, and there could be a separate button dedicated for launching the camera.
Regarding display, Q7 sports a 5.5-inch FHD+ LCD screen supporting 1080 x 2160 resolutions with the standard 18:9 aspect ratio. The audio will be powered by HiFi ES9218P DAC, and the device bears support for Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 providing fast charging for 3,000mAh battery. USB Type-C and certain waterproof standard are other features known so far.
Stay tuned for more!
