LG Will Gain Support for Airplay 2 and Homekit Soon

Earlier LG launched its first 2019 TVs, announcing that it would gain support for HomeKit and AirPlay 2. Now, the company announces that the update for AirPlay 2 and HomeKit will start rolling out in one week.

According to LG’s tweet from its Australian account, the WebOS update for HomeKit and AirPlay 2 will start supporting from next week. Certain apps might not run on AirPlay hen while you can shuffle through content on YouTube, you might not be able to watch shows from Netflix.

To take support the new update, users will require running the device on iOS 12.4. The company has also hinted that the updates will be available only for the 2019 models and not for the other older models of the company. The new support will also help the TV integrate directly into the Home app on iOS.

With the new HomeKit support, you can use it for other actions like ask Siri to turn on the TV and dim the Philips Hue lights. You can also control the HDMI input with the new update. However, LG was one of the first to support for AirPlay 2, but now Samsung has also started rolling out of AirPlay 2 updates.
