LG is coming up with three Q-series mid-range smartphones

The South Korea based electronic giant LG is going to unveil three Q-Series smartphones under budget. LG has applied for the Q43, Q63S and Q83 trademarks to the KIPRIS (Korea Intellectual Property Information Service). These are available from 25th September 2020 and are classified as Category 9, under which smartphones are also included.

In the last May, the South Korea based manufacturer registered 13 trademarks for the mid-range Q series. Those models are Q31, Q32, Q33, Q51, Q51S, Q52, Q53, Q61, Q62, Q63, Q91, Q92 and Q93.

Among these models, some have been released officially, for example, Q31, Q51 and Q61 are already available in the market of South Korea. Along with it, Q92, the first 5G-supporting model in LG’s Q series has been launched.

The Q92 5G smartphone is equipped with a quad rear camera setup, 48MP main camera, 8MP ultrawide lens, 5MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro lens. We can expect the other models to be available in the coming months, with the three models we have already observed – the LG Q43, Q63S and Q83 – models ending with the number “3”.

Before these models come officially to the market, LG may announce some Q-Series smartphones whose model names end with “2”. The additional letter “S” in the Q63S implies that it is a cheaper version, which means that the LG Q63S will have a little lower specification than the Q63 phone. However, the “s” models often come with a slightly larger display and larger batteries.

In the last few years, the world market for smartphones has marked rapid change. The Asia-Europe region has been flooded with models from Chinese manufacturers, making it difficult to survive for manufacturers like LG Electronics.

However, in its native country South Korea, LG Electronics still enjoys enough popularity and attention. In South Korea, for example, the company has launched high-end innovative models like the recent model LG Wing and mid-ranged economical models such as the Q series.

The mid-range LG Q70 model launched last year was the first screen-opening smartphone from LG. The only Q-series mid-range model that was sold in Europe is LG Q60, which is still available in the market.
