LG Electronics is bringing voice recognition to its customers through its ThinQ mobile app. LG is implementing Google Assistant’s voice recognition technology to manage all Wi-Fi enabled LG appliances. ThinQ was formerly known as SmartThinQ.
ThinQ like any other voice command that provides ease on user’s side will provide its customer with the ability to operate Wi-Fi enabled washing machine, dryers, refrigerators, dryers, etc. The app also provides a real-time status update regarding the nature of the commands executed.
The next step to living in future is here as the users can ask the ThinQ app to check the time left on the washing machine or adjust the temperature of the air conditioner without even being present in the room without having to look at their phone.
The voice command alone is enough for ThinQ to execute all of the above-mentioned works and more. The futuristic function of the app ThinQ does not stop there. ThinQ will provide the queries posed by the user in no time. If asked about the apps recent usage activity, ThinQ will provide it also.
Alice Ryu, the head of LG Home Appliance and Air Solution Company’s smart home business, said, “Creating a smart home experience that makes our customers’ lives measurably more convenient is what drives us daily. With the voice-capable mobile app, we have created the ultimate smart home ecosystem that puts convenience first.”
The ThinQ app is in its final phase of developing, and Korea will be the first country to have the services of ThinQ, followed by North America in the fourth quarter of this year, and Europe will get ThinQ next year. With the advent of voice commands, and watching how far this technology has come, it is only a matter of time before mobile apps like ThinQ can execute tasks on a broader level.
