Now you can easily find your colleagues, learn more about and connect to them through a new app called LinkedIn LookUp. LinkedIn, the largest professional site in the world, this week introduced LinkedIn Lookup app for professionals that make them more productive and successful by getting in touch with their co-workers and exchanging their ideas.
In a blog post, Ankit Gupta, Co-Founder of Pulse, which was acquired by LinkedIn in 2013, announced the launch of a new LookUp app.
With the new app, you can find your co-worker even if you are not aware of his/her name or interacted before. The LookUp app helps you find your colleagues easily – just go to the app, and you can search that person by title, current and past experience, education, and skills. You’ll get information with the photos, names, and titles of the coworkers and the skills you are looking for that are added to their LinkedIn profiles.
With the LookUp app, you will also be able to see the information of your colleagues even if you aren’t connected to that person on LinkedIn. If your searched persons have set their contact preference visible only to co-workers, you’ll be able to find their mobile number and easily contact them – and it doesn’t appear on their public LinkedIn profiles.
If your co-worker has not shared his/her mobile number with you, then you can send emails to her work email id or direct message by simply clicking the “Send a message” option, and that person will receive an alert on their mobile phone.
LookUp is currently available for iPhone users who can download it from the App Store.
