NCSoft revealed earlier this year that it was working on multiple games of different genres. Today, the firm released the first gameplay trailer of their brand-new open-world AAA shooting game “LLL” for PCs and consoles, which will be available worldwide in 2024.

NCSoft, the company behind the Guild Wars video game, has revealed Project LLL, a combination of the open-world, MMO, and third-person shooter genres that is based on unique sci-fi elements. The project manager Seeder Jaehyun Bae provided a website interview where he provided further information about the project.

LLL gameplay is “unique” in comparison to other Battle Royale games currently available

Bae claims that NCSoft intends to create a completely new genre that is distinct from the looter shooters and battle royale games that are currently available. The game is being developed using Unreal Engine 5, and hence players can expect an AAA-grade game.

He stated, “It takes place in a world that started with the idea that the history we know progressed differently due to a particular event in the past. In LLL, the lore of a devastated Seoul, the Byzantine Empire in the 10th century, and the 23rd century are all combined.”

The gameplay video depicts several locations in Seoul, Korea, and he claims that the team visited these locations. Bae himself mentions the sci-fi books Foundation by Asimov, Dune by Frank Herbert, and Total Recall by Philip K. Dick as further influences that fans may notice or experience in Project LLL.

The LLL gameplay trailer highlighted the game’s core gameplay mechanics, including shooting, movement, exploring, and multi-player, including its Sci-Fi plot, in which players hunt out mutants through the ruins of Seoul.

Players will interact and compete in Project LLL’s open-world setting, which simulates a 30-kilometer-wide area of space. The open world’s main components are continuous loading and movement.

The LLL gameplay video appears to be quite promising, but gamers will have to wait for the game to be released, which is scheduled to happen in 2024.
