As promised, Meizu officially launched its new mid-range smartphone, the Meizu M6T. The device was spotted in Geekbench and TENAA certification database several days before the launch. After weeks of leaks and teasers, we received specs and price details, most of which compensate for the prior speculations.
Meizu M6T sports a 5.7-inch LCD HD+ display supporting 1440 x 720 pixels with an 18:9 tall-aspect ratio and 1000:1 contrast ratio. It features a metal unibody design with a rear-mounted fingerprint reader that’s nicknamed ‘Super mBack,’ offering 0.2 seconds of response time. The sensor lets users control UI through swipe gestures.
The device is powered by MediaTek MT6750 bearing eight Cortex A53 cores and is paired with Mali-T860 GPU. There are three storage variants: 3/32GB priced at 799 Yuan or about Rs. 8,452; 4/32GB at 999 Yuan or about Rs. 10,568; and 4/64GB at 1,099 Yuan or around Rs. 11,624.
Meizu M6T provides microSD card support to make it expandable up to 128GB in terms of storage. It runs Android 7.0 Nougat and packs a non-removable 3,300mAh battery. Connectivity features include Bluetooth 4.1, micro USB 2.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n.
The handset bears a rear dual camera setup offering 13 MP and 2 MP sensors, with f2.2 and f2.4 aperture, respectively. The features are PDAF, panorama mode, autofocus, LED flash, HDR, 1080p video recording capability, and portrait shots for the second module. The front camera is of 8 MP sensor dedicated for the selfie, with an f2.0 aperture. It also supports face unlock.
The phone is available in three color options: Black, Red, and Gold. It is yet to be confirmed when sales first start. Stay tuned for more details as they surface.
