Although Google Duo is not such a popular application, it is used by a sufficient number of users so that the developer frequently updates the functionality of the application. Not so long ago, the interface underwent major changes, the possibility of new interaction with contacts appeared, as well as the choice between video chat and a simple voice call.
Google is bringing new features for its video calling application, Google Duo. Determined to make it more popular in the last month the company released an update of the app, allowing the creation of group calls with up to 8 people. Now, according to the 9to5Google site investigation, we have more information that is forthcoming.
By unlocking the code from the latest Google Duo update (Google Duo 56), some new tools have been discovered. According to the lines of code found, soon it will be possible to send photos and videos of the gallery as a temporary message, as well as videos with a validity of 24 hours. With the updated app, it is now possible to upload photos and videos from the gallery.
The second change is in the “Knock Knock” tool, which now lets you see the contact who is requesting a video call before answering it. Just below the feature configuration page is added the following text: “You can control the Knock Knock of each device on the configuration page of the respective device.” That is, changing the configuration of one device will not affect the activation of Knock Knock on another device, even if it is connected to the same profile.
Furthermore, in the new version, there is a Low Light mode, which should be useful when we are in a low light environment, to optimize the video. It can be activated/deactivated by the settings. Google Duo 56 is now available on the Google Play Store to download.
