We recently received news that Microsoft has addressed the app crashing issue found in the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 phones and is investigating the same. Users have been complaining about the matter in the official Microsoft forum since last December-mid.

Among the major issues Samsung devices are recently facing, this is a new unfortunate addition to the tech titan’s Galaxy Note 8. The Microsoft apps in point are Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. The affected users say that these apps are freezing or getting crashed on opening or while in use in their respective Galaxy Note 8.
In certain scenarios, the disruption freezes the phone itself. A reboot of the device usually makes things normal again, though there’s no report on if this is working successfully. A few users also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the apps, which brought the expected solution.
Now, alongside the official forums of Microsoft, the official Samsung community, Twitter, Reddit, and even other help forums have Galaxy Note 8 app crash complaints posted by the users. Many users posted on the review sections of the apps in the Google Play Store.
Some affected went on to uninstall the apps, which brought back normalcy to their devices. Some others even said that these apps are working fine on other devices but are automatically rebooting the Galaxy Note 8 when those are opened.
According to certain of the complaints, this particular issue is evident after the November update. In addition to Note 8, several older Samsung phones like Note 4 are having the same problem too, albeit largely fewer in number.
Samsung is yet to provide a statement, but we are keeping a tab on the next development regarding the unfortunate case. While both the big names are tangled in this, we hope that things get sorted out soon enough, given that the two are at fault.
