Microsoft Business Application Get Spring 2018 Release With New AI Capabilities

Microsoft recently exhibited its Dynamics 365 Business Central solution at Directions Asia 2018, which took place in Bangkok, Thailand, from 15-16 March 2018. The event gave a chance to the Dynamics partners to gain insight into the newly-released solution. Microsoft showcased both the cloud opportunities with Business Central and other Microsoft cloud offerings that can boost the growth of the Dynamics partner business.

Today Microsoft unveiled a massive set of updates that aims at improving its business applications, including its Dynamics 365 suite and Power BI analytics service.

To start, Microsoft announced a new Dynamics 365 Spring 2018 release for Sales Professional service that’s supposed to provide a lighter-weight customer relationship management (CRM) system for smaller businesses that don’t need the full power of Dynamics 365 for Sales.

The giant also revealed a new Common Data Service for Analytics, which is designed to provide a consistent platform for data analysis with a single schema. The service, combined with Microsoft’s Power Query technology, allows companies to pull in data from multiple sources and put it all in one consistent form.

Another new app, Dynamics 365 for Sales Professional, is similar to the current offering but restricts capabilities for smaller organizations or singular departments that don’t need the full enterprise offering.

It’s designed to continue the mission we have of offering modular applications for organizations of all sizes. – Taylor

To make the business suite more extensible, Microsoft is upgrading its development platform for analytic solutions.

Common Data Service for Apps, a component of the PowerApps development platform, is incorporating new capabilities for modeling data in custom applications. And Common Data Service for Analytics introduces a standardized model to pull in data across many Microsoft and third-party sources into Power BI’s data visualization tools.

After the Microsoft Business Application Spring release, Microsoft expands business with even more in the works for its business applications. The company is working on enhancing customers’ business apps with its proprietary data, to make them more valuable.
