Microsoft Chief Executive Officer Satya Nadella is about to join board of directors of Starbucks. In March, the coffee giant will put Satya Nadella forward along with two other nominees at its annual meeting.
Starbucks Chairman and CEO Howard Schultz described Satya Nadella and the other two nominees as world-class and values-based leaders who will strengthen their leadership quality and add their expertise skills in technology, strategy, and many more to the company.
Nadella has extensive experience and a good understanding of how technology will be used and experienced around the world that is why Starbucks nominated him. Starbucks become more tech-focused over the last two years. He will provide useful help to Starbucks which focuses on innovative ways to use technology to elevate the brand and grow its business.
Nadella was born in Hyderabad, India, and got the top job at Microsoft in February 2014. He was too honored after getting this role. Nadella is also one of the board directors of Seattle-based Fred Hutchison Cancer Research Center.
The election for new board members will be held on 22nd March at the company’s annual shareholders meeting. Long-term Starbucks director James Shennan Jr. will retire after the annual meeting, leaving behind 14 members.
