Lindsay-Rae McIntyre is the new Microsoft Chief Diversity Officer, CDO, as reported on its official news website yesterday, February 11. She will look after the existing cross-company initiatives for the build-up of the company’s progress aiming at a ‘diverse and inclusive culture.’

The transition time isn’t confirmed yet. McIntyre will have her office in Redmond of Washington and will report to Kathleen Hogan, Chief People Officer for Microsoft.

Before joining the company, McIntyre served IBM for two decades as the HR head of several business units working in key regions worldwide. Most recently, she served as the CDO and HR Vice President, leading IBM’s global diversity agenda and corporate processes. The works of her and her team have been recognized via different prestigious awards related to diversity.

Diversity enriches our performance and products as well as the communities where we live and work. With her extensive expertise, Lindsay-Rae will bring great perspective and leadership as we look to build on our strengths in this area. – Kathleen Hogan, Chief People Officer for Microsoft

McIntyre has a BA degree with the highest honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, receiving the Morehead-Cain Scholarship. Her graduation was realized by the Cross Continent MBA Program at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.

I am excited to join Microsoft, a company that has not only adapted well to rapid change in the business landscape but elevated the standards of what we can expect in a technology provider when it comes to diversity and inclusion. – McIntyre

McIntyre’s experiences include being a thought leader for working mothers, creating a workplace for multicultural women, LGBTQ equality, paid leave and time management. Additionally, she had been a teacher for the deaf, providing lessons on American sign language, and is an advocate for people with disabilities. More than 20 years has she spent in human resources for the global technology industry.
