Microsoft received an extension of digital transformation investment from the U.S. Intelligence Community (IC), including “hundreds of millions of dollars over six years.” The transformative agreement further consists of IC using Microsoft’s products such as Windows 10, Cloud, Office 365, and Azure for the US Government and a Joint Enterprise License Agreement with Dell.
The extension of the longstanding relationship between Microsoft and IC will now let Microsoft Cloud be fully leveraged for the Government platform, and this is the first time for the company. The agreement comes as a ‘vehicle’ for the American government as they can have access to the latest Microsoft technologies for empowering agencies, strengthening security, and modernizing infrastructure further.
Additionally, Microsoft is offering a unique, end-to-end cloud platform on Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) that come with “modern collaboration and productivity tools” dedicated toward the government.
This agreement can offer several potential innovations in order to forward modernization efforts of more than 10 million government customers. These innovations include advanced cyber threat protection, implementation of deep learning across applications, advanced compute capabilities across IoT, and usage of Office 365 for the government.
Azure Government is one of the highlighted offerings of Microsoft to the American country-runners, delivering top standard security and the “deepest built-in compliance on the market” with over 70 certifications.
