Microsoft is Developing Chrome Extensions for Edge Browser

If you are a Windows user and a Chrome fan, then this news is definitely for you. Software giant Microsoft is planning to offer the Chrome extension in Microsoft Edge, the new browser on the PC version of Windows 10.

The company will offer three extensions on the Edge browser in the initial stage, including Microsoft Translator, Reddit extension, and Mouse Gestures, and later on LastPass, Adblock, Adblock Plus, Amazon, Evernote, and more to come as Edge extensions. Each one of the extensions can be manually installed.

Jacob Rossi, an engineer at the Microsoft Edge team, with a series of tweets, confirms the development and previews of extensions are available on the Windows blog.

The tool seems to be in development; you might need to wait until the extensions are fully rolled out and available at Windows Store. It would be strange if Microsoft didn’t also produce a tool to help Firefox plugin developers bring their wares to Edge, but there’s no word on this now. Web Summit 2016 will be held in San Francisco on April 4th, 2016

You can see the preview version of the extension on the Windows developer website, and if you would like to download the first preview extensions, visit the Microsoft Edge Dev extensions page.
