Back in December last year, Microsoft released the new Excel image functions allowing users to insert images within cells. The tech giant noted that aside from inserting images in such places, the feature will also allow users to change the size of the cells with pictures or filter them.
Microsoft Excel Image Function Comes to All Platforms
However, the American tech giant has officially announced today that it is now bringing the new image function of Excel to all platforms. The function is now available to iOS and Android users as well, after its release in December.
One of the most significant updates to Microsoft’s spreadsheet program is the Excel Image Function. In August last year, it was first introduced. Before today, it was only accessible via the web, on Windows, and on a Mac, but the Redmond giant has revealed that it is now accessible across all platforms.
Commenting on the release to all platforms, Itai Goldstein, Microsoft’s product manager said with the new Excel Image Function, users can sort and filter, calculate, write formulas with photos, resize or move the cells, and work with pictures.
This is wonderful news for individuals who frequently work with data in Excel and need to insert images for various display settings like charts and graphs.
Although it is currently allowed, Excel only enables adding images above cells, making it difficult to maintain the spreadsheets’ appearance, especially if you need to use several images. But, Microsoft Excel users will now have a better and more effective manner of organizing their spreadsheets thanks to this new picture capability.
