Microsoft has always tried to bring something new with each of its new updates. Since Microsoft provides the most user-friendly way to work in the personal and business arena, its’ developers are trying hard to include more features for a better experience.
This week Microsoft is testing a new update for Windows 10, which is entitled to give an amazing screenshot experience in a major upcoming update. For a long time, third-party apps like ShareX and Lightshot have been leading the way in taking screenshots on Windows 10. But this is not enough to provide a smooth experience. Hence Microsoft has recognized now that Windows 10 users want a better way to take screenshots and share them after editing them.
Earlier, Screen Sketch, which collaborated with the Windows Ink feature of Windows 10, was made into a separate app that can take screenshots and provide options to annotate them. Microsoft tried to get something new here, experimenting with several screen snicking tools over the years, but a new Winkey + shift + S keyboard shortcut will now bring up an area select tool to capture a screenshot and share it instantly from the clipboard. The app will also send notifications if anyone wants to annotate and share the screenshot. The print screen button on a keyboard with this feature can also be replaced, making the button more useful than the present-day’s incorporation of Winkey and print screen.
The multinational company is also modifying its Fluent Design in this new build (17661) along with the Microsoft screenshot tool. The Task View area of the Windows 10 Timeline feature now has a soft blur effect to match other effects added in the Windows 10 April 2018 Update. Another interesting point about the update is that Focus Assist, a feature that suppresses notifications, will now automatically notify the user while playing any fullscreen game.
Besides taking care of the screenshot modification, Microsoft is refining its legacy Control Panel sound features to the main settings app in Windows 10 and improving its High-Efficiency Image File Format (HEIF) support in File Explorer.
Microsoft is expected to provide further details about its plans for this major Windows 10 update, codenamed as Redstone 5, at the company’s Build developer conference next week. Microsoft’s Joe Belfiore will address a keynote on Tuesday, as he is now in charge of those special attributes that Windows will provide
