Just recently, Microsoft rolled out the June update for its Launcher app. Unfortunately, the update is said to have come with numerous bugs as users are lamenting different chaos and frustration on the app.
Users of the Microsoft Launcher began posting reports this morning on Reddit and Twitter after updating to the latest version of the software. Although the exact number of people who are impacted by this is now unknown, a variety of devices, not just the Surface Duo, appear to be affected.
A user, who took to Twitter to lament the situation after updating to the June update, said his Microsoft Launcher has stopped working.
“Looks like the Surface Duo June update is rolling out. So far the release notes have not been updated, so let’s see what I get after the reboot, @tkuenneth tweeted. So it turns out the Microsoft Launcher did not like the update. At least the Duo seems to be working, but I need to redo all my launcher customizing.”
Similarly, another user, yugabe, who also experienced a similar incident, narrated how the situation began via its Reddit page.
“Welp, my Duo updated overnight. Firstly, I had some issues trying to stop my alarm, because it wouldn’t register the volume shortcuts or taps. Secondly, after updating, I got this message… tried updating, won’t help. Will try to mess with it a bit, but it seems the Duo is on its way to the dodo… right now pretty much feels like how it was just before Microsoft fully abandoned Windows Phones, the user explained.”
However, it appears that the only true option for those who have updated is to restart the launcher to get it operating again. But some users are also claiming that restarting the launcher is ineffective. As of the time of press, the software giant has not responded to the issues, but we hope it will roll out a fixed update soon. Thus, stay connected with Techgenyz for more updates.
