Microsoft is adding a new feature to its Surface Duo that will focus on and represent the next wave of mobile productivity. Now multitasking on the laptop is the easiest thing to do combined with the power of Microsoft 365 experiences and the full ecosystem of Android mobile apps.
It was unveiled on August 12; however, shipping will start from September 10. Microsoft is claiming that the Surface Duo will open into the thinnest mobile device available on the market.
The device features an 8.1-inches of PixelSense Fusion display connected by a revolutionary 360-degree hinge. This hinge will allow the users to use the 5.6-inches of display individually or together across a variety of modes. Surface Duo comes packed with doubled security.
The built-in custom-engineered Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) takes control over the firmware components providing Enterprise-grade security to its users. Another new capability that also helps raise the bar on productivity is the option of connecting to a full Windows 10 experience in the cloud with Windows Virtual Desktop. With the tight-knit security features and the focus on productivity, the Surface Duo makes the perfect candidate for the modern workplace.
Microsoft also mentions that various mobile device management options including Microsoft Intune could be used to manage the entire Surface Duo experience. Users needed to bring in their own devices up to the requirements of a company to make sure that the corporate data is protected.
To balance this extra security measure out, the Intune app protects this data without requiring the users to enroll their devices into their company portal.
This protection triggers itself only while handling corporate data. Furthermore, Microsoft Intune plays an important part in distributing a line of business and app apps on Google play to the non-enrolled devices in the app protection scenario, and as Microsoft mentioned,
All this helps make App protection and Android enterprise work profiles the most implemented MDM scenarios.
Surface Duo could also be managed through Full device management for Dedicated device management.
